Ban Mian come's in a different style: soup, dry, or tom yum. Even the noodle come's in different style too: Ban Mian, Yu Mian, Mee Hoon Kueh, Instant Noodle, Egg Noodle, Bee Hoon, Kueh Teow, or even yellow noodle. For this post, i will be review some of the must-try ban mian in Singapore.
1. Poon Nah City Home-Made Noodle.
Poon Nah City Home-Made Noodle located at the food court of City Plaza. They served the best soup ban mian in the east.There're total of 8 types of noodles to choose from. You can choose what type of ingredient to paired with, sliced fish, prawns, kidney, fish maw and clams. They also sell affordable fried items to go along with your ban mian. The ban mian ($3.50) was cooked to the right texture with it chewiness and springiness. The broth was rich, light and fragrance.

2. L32 Kopitiam Ban Mian.

L32 Kopitiam Ban Mian located at lorong 32 geylang. They served the best dry ban mian in Singapore. The dry version ban mian ($3.50) gives you the perfect springy texture of the noodles and it coated with dark sauce that makes it slightly sweet and aromatic. Next, scoop the egg yolk in the soup carefully and let the gooey yolk coat your noodles as well. Don't forget about their chili, the mix of finely chopped and blended chili padi will bring this ban mian to the whole new level.

3. TOP 1 Home Made Noodles.

Since 1989, founder of Top 1 Home Made noodle started making handmade noodle with wide variety of soups, sides and noodles. The ban mian ($3) that everyone knows about it. Love the firm yet chewy texture of the noodles, goes so well with the flavourful dark sauce. Chili is spicy but super addictive and a nice addition to the dish. Minced meat is well seasoned.

4. Ke Kou Mian.
The famous Ke Ko Mian (KKM) that everyone knows, started their business back in the early 2000s. It's also a famous supper place. This bowl of instant noodles ($4) keeps many patrons waiting for at least 30 minutes, you know it's worth waiting for when everyone around you is doing it too! Tangy noodles bathing in a sweet and sour broth, and generous amount of ingredients. It worth the time.

5. Kin Kin Chili Mee.
The famous Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee from Kuala Lumpur opened at MacPherson. Kin Kin was originally from Kuala Lumpur and had three outlets under the name of Restoran Kin Kin. It was selling at RM 7 (S$2.80) a bowl in Malaysia and it’s best known for it’s pan fried chilli and the half boiled runny yolk.
The famed ban mian ($5) was mixed with minced meat, crispy ikan bilis, fried scallion, meatballs, tossed with their signature special formulated slow-roasted dry chilli flakes, and topped with a poached egg. The handmade noodle is not the soft and soggy kind. It’s a little firmer which makes it enjoyable to chew on. Kin Kin also added Pork Lard as part of the recipe to enhance the overall the taste. a few scoops of this chilli magically elevated the overall flavor by more than a few notches. The chilli is the Bomb!
