Lor mee is a Chinese-inspired noodle dish served in a thick starchy gravy and thick flat yellow noodles. The dish is eaten by Hokkiens in Singapore and Malaysia. The thick gravy is made of corn starch, spices and eggs. The ingredients added into the noodles are usually ngo hiang, fish cake, fish, round and flat meat dumplings (usually chicken or pork), half a boiled egg, and other items depending on the stall and the price paid. Vinegar and garlic can be added as an optional item. The dish is also eaten with red chili. Traditional versions also include bits of fried fish as topping though few stalls serve this version anymore. Origin from Malaysia.

Let's me list out my top 4 favorite Lor Mee stall in Singapore.
The bits of fried fish and breaded items included are the way authentic lor mee is supposed to be. The shark meat fritters taste regular to me. I wouldn’t be able to tell this apart from regular fish. The gooey and starchy sauce looked heavy, but isn't as all that you are done with the bowl after a few bites. $3 for this bowl of lor mee.

3. Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee.
The portions were generous, i ordered the large ($5), which came with tonnes of fluffy snapper and braised meat (lu rou). The sauce was tasty, and was elevated with a touch of vinegar and fragrant chili. The chili was really the bomb, it was spicy and shiok.
