14:06:00

One of the Singaporean favourite dish, "Bak Chor Mee". Everyone eat Bak Chor Mee at least once a week, and i am sure that everyone is trying to hunt for the best Bak Chor Mee or everyone has their own favourite places to go for their bak chor mee fix!

Here are the 6 places that I recommend to get your Bak Chor Mee fix.

1. Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle.

The most popular or i can say, the Number 1 Singaporean choice Bak Chor Mee. They started out in Hill Street in the 1930s and used to be at Marina Centre before moving to the current location. The most authentic Teochew style Bak Chor Mee and it is particularly loved by those that enjoy an extra dash of black vinegar on the noodles. Their prices range from $5, $8 to $10, though rather steep but arguably the best Bak Chor Mee given their long history and the daily queue.

I ordered the $5 bak chor mee. The portion was really small, i can finish it in 5 mouth but it is worth the money. The noodles is al-dente, springy and has the right amount of vinegar, seasoning and chilli.

Macpherson Minced Meat Noodles features a protein rich pork broth and delightfully springy noodles, two aspects that would surely make the ‘pork noodles’ fanatic ecstatic. There are using queue number system just like other bubble tea stalls, although the waiting time still takes up to 45 minutes or more. You need to have lots of patient!

This bowl of awesome Bak Chor Mee cost $4, and it was so good.  The noodle was al-dente and springy. The addictive sauce was the soul of the dish. It was so addictive, i can ate two bowl of it.

3, 58 Minced Meat Mee.

This bak chor mee was highly recommended by my boss. It's located at bedok 58 hawker and market. My boss was right, it was damn good. The best dry bar chor mee in the day time at Bedok.

It came with $3, $4, and $5. There are no secret ingredients or special cooking styles. Great for those looking for a good bowl of bak chor mee. The cook uses the traditional pork lard to provide the oil and flavour. The chilli gaves the extra punch for this bowl of goodness.

A food trip to Bedok 85 hawker centre is never complete without ordering a hot bowl of bak chor mee. The bak chor mee was served in soup base. A popular supper place to the foodies. The noodles here came from a factory but they used quality ingredients for make up of the loses in quality of noodles. Only specific parts of the pig are used in the minced pork, which is marinated overnight.

Bouncy meatballs that are fresh and sweet. Along with soft and springy noodle and the incredibly rich and packed with flavours broth to make this undefeatable bak chor mee. I could not help myself for coming back often for more.

The gem in Toa Payoh. The bak chor mee came in $4, $5 and $6. It has been around for more than 10years, and the north side people love it.

The noodles are super springy and top that with the delicious stewed mushroom and succulent pork. The minus point is the chilli sauce, the chilli wasn't spicy instead it was sweet.

6. Somerset Pub Fishball Noodle.

Hidden gem in Hougang. Upon chance to be at hougang area for work, and tried out the recommended bak chor mee. The bar chor mee came in $3, and $4. During lunch time it was very crowed. Heard from the boss, they moved from somerset to here so that they don't need to travel so far.

A bowl of noodles topped with braised mushroom, sliced meat, pork liver, minced meat, vegetable ball and meatballs in it. The ingredients tasted fresh but the meatballs and noodles are the average factory made variety, thus quite average, bits of crispy pork lards are added to enhance its flavor. It is their chilli that sets them apart from most others; the flavor derived from the dried shrimps is quite distinctive with a well-balanced level of spiciness.
