07:27:00

We love all types of carrot cake,. Contrary to its name, there's nary a tinge of orange in the local fried carrot cake, a flavourful dish that comes in the monochrome colours of black or white. Carrot cake is commonly referred to as 'chai tow kway' in the Teochew dialect, these smooth and soft fried rice cakes can be found in almost every hawker centre. It is served black (fried with sweet dark soya sauce) or white (original).

Here are my top places to indulge in the best carrot cake in Singapore.

Black:

1.  Song Zhou Luo Bo Gao.

Song Zhou Luo Bo Gao has been an all-time favourite with 30 over years experience. The black carrot cake proved to be the best-seller dish with its absolutely tasty thick black sauce.
It's always the top 5 choice for Singaporean whenever you ask them, where can i have nice carrot cake.

The winning formula for this awesome carrot cake was their thick and sweet black sauce. The carrot cake was soft and smooth, generous amount of eggs and the added "cai poh" gives an extra punch!
