Jthejon Malaysia Food Hunt Begin!!

I have been travel to Malaysia frequently for food hunting.
Founded and tried those recommended food places in Malaysia.
I am going to do a review here today for you guys.. So lets start!!

First stop, Breeks Kafe.

Cafe Latte -

The lousier coffee that i ever tasted. It just tasted like diluted milk, it has no coffee taste/aroma, it was BAD.

Cream of Mushroom -

The soup was just pretty normal. I felt like the soup was can soup instead of cook from the fresh.

Seafood Marinara -

It was pretty bad. The seafood wasn't fresh, it had a weird smell on it. The sauce was affected by the seafood and the overall taste was bad. Not worth a try even thou it was cheap.

Fish and Chips -

It was very normal. The fish was well fried to golden brown but the taste was very plain and the fish wasn't that fresh too.

Second stop, Kurotomon Ramen 黑燈門

Green Tea -

Normal.

Gyoza - RM13.00

Pretty average gyoza. The gyoza skin texture was chewy and smooth, the meat was meaty, fresh tender and fragrant. The broth was fragrant, and it wasn't oily.

Kin Maru Special - RM29.00

Braised black pork, char siew, tamago, seaweed, chilli, sesame and spring onion.

The noodle texture wasn't chewy enough instead it was slightly overcooked, The broth was fragrant, thick, and sweet. The chilli wasn't spicy at all, i felt that the chili shouldn't be included in this dish as it might spoil the taste. The black pork was really good, it was savory, tender and it was really really soft.

Third stop, Kam Long Curry Fish Head 金龙咖喱鱼头.

The restaurant is like a typical old school coffee shop – mosaic tile floors with many fans around to provide the much-needed ventilation as you sweat your way through while enjoying their fish heads!

Curry Fish Head (Medium) - RM30

The claypot fish head curry was sizzling hot bubbles when arriving our table. The colours look spicy but it is not really that spicy at all.  It is a typical Malaysian kind of curries that is not too thick nor spicy, The fish was fresh and the aroma fragrance of the curry with coconut milk enhances the flavor of the fish. The fresh curry goes extremely well with a bowl of rice.

Direction to the restaurant:

It is easy to get to the place! Simply exit City Square at Level 1 where Maybank is located. Across the first traffic light, you will see the Hong Leong Bank. Walk straight down along those shophouses for about 5 minutes, along the way you should be able to smell the curry fragrance and spot this famous shop quite easily since most likely there will be a long queue of people outside waiting for seats!

The roasted duck was very dry and tough, the skin wasn't that crispy and appetizing. The meat was tough and dry. One word: AWFUL.

 Nasi Bojari - RM 23.90

Tri-colored rice, assam prawns, beef rendang and a chicken drumstick served on a banana leaf. The rice was full of flavor, infused with spices and tastes of coconut milk. The shrimp were spicy with a bit of sweetness, while the beef rendang was nice and tender. The chicken drumstick was tender and juicy not like other Malaysian restaurant.

 Curry Chicken - RM 10.90

Fresh chicken cooked in thick coconut milk and secret herbs. It was rich, thick, and has a silky smooth texture. It was spicy and fragrant too.

 Nasi lemak - RM 15.90

The white lemak rice is accompanied by curry chicken, hard boiled egg, dried shrimp floss, spicy ikan bilis (dried anchovies). With the fragrance of the coconut milk infusing every grain, the rice smells great and tastes even better. the sambal ikan bilis are comfortably spicy and simply bursting with flavour!

 Prawn Noodle - RM 14.90

The prawn noodle was pretty average. The broth was a little bit bland. The prawn aroma wasn't strong. Ingredient everything was just average.

Otah Otah Fried Rice - RM 14.90

Otah was cutted into small pieces and it went well with the fried rice. The fried rice was good, although the otah was cutted into small pieces, the otah still tasted great even it went to fried again.

Overall, the food was pretty good. The ambiance was cozy and it suitable for group dining and family dining. I tried Madam Kwan outlet in Singapore, i think KL Malaysia outlet is still the best.
