Food Review: A One Claypot House

16:33:00

Established since 2008, A ONE Claypot House meticulously crafted menu is a good balanced combination of soul foods, incorporated with the local palate, inspired by traditional cooking methods. Its mantra is that food should be consumed at the right temperature and hence the use of traditional claypot cooking techniques which has good heat insulation. Central to the cooking are fresh ingredients with great emphasis in attaining the natural flavours from the ingredients without using any preservatives. For the health conscious, claypot cooking uses less oil yet retains its natural flavours.

Topping the list from the menu is the award winning Traditional Claypot Scallop porridge. Using Pearl White Rice, together with the combination of flavours from the scallops, fresh slices of fish and cuttlefish infused into the porridge - making it a sweet, smooth gooey texture that melts in your mouth. Crafted by the skilled hands and culinary creativity of the chefs – simple, hearty dishes such as Spinach with 3 Types of Egg, Aone Superior Pot and Hotplate Sesame Oil Chicken Noodle are some of the signature dishes not to be missed.

A dining experience at A-ONE Claypot House is expressed through its family-style comfort food, comfy ambiance, well-mannered hospitality all in one place.

Menu:

Assorted Dry Fruit Tea - $7.80

The tea tasted sour and fruity. The blueberry aroma was very strong. Personally i don't really like it, i would i prefer light aroma and sweet tea.

Stir Fried French Bean with Minced Meat - $11.90

It was a pretty bad dish. The french bean was very dry and tasteless. The mined meat was tasteless too. It was a very awful dish!!

Salted Egg Prawn - $19.90

The salted egg prawn was good. The salted egg sauce was creamy, savory and sweet. But the sauce was quite little if only they can give more. The prawn was big, fresh and juicy. I would rate 3.5/5 for this dish.

Century Egg with Minced Meat Porridge - $9.90

The porridge had a silky smooth texture and this could only be achieved by
cooking the grains for a long time. But the flavour was quite bland. Century egg and minced meat was hardly to be found.

Food: 2/5
Ambiance: 2/5
Service: 2/5

Overall, the food quality was just average. Price wise was a bit pricey. I feel like it's just like tze char but it was in a shopping mall.
