Cafe Review: Alfero Artisan Gelato, J.CO Donuts & Coffee, My Sister Bakes
15:15:00Alfero Artisan Gelato aims to bring to Singapore the real experience of homemade Italian gelato produced with the best quality of imported ingredients and freshness and taste guaranteed. It is designed and catered to the market with a whole unique taste of authentic Italian products with quality assured.
Marco Alfero was a Finance Manager in the semiconductor industry for more than 10 years. As a kid, he has always love eating gelato and would even eat gelato like a regular meal. He still loves eating gelato and has always dreamed of becoming a gelato chef. After being in the corporate world for 15 years, Alfero has decided to pursue his dream and take on a professional approach to fulfil his passion. He opened his first gelato cafe in Marina Square. His other retail shop in MacPherson Lane (which is also a laboratory where the gelato is freshly made) was opened a month later.
Latte - $5.50
The coffee was pretty good if you enjoy bitter coffee.
Yuzu (Japan Pomelo) - $4.50 Single scoop
One of my favorite sorbet. The Yuzu sorbet was light, refreshing, sweet-sour and has a icy citrus flavours.
Mango -
The taste was similar to Yuzu sorbet. But the mango was more sour and the mango aroma was stronger.
Brownie with Gelato - $6
The brownie wasn't that good. The brownie was too dry and it wasn't flavorful enough. The Pistachio gelato was sweet, delicate and aromatic.
Avocado Gelato
The avocado gelato was good too. It was aromatic, creamy, milky, and wasn't that sweet too.
Food: 3.75/5
Ambiance: 3/5
Service: 4/5
Overall, the gelato was really good. It can be one of your after meal dessert or having your sweet craving fix. The ambiance over at Marina Square outlet was good, it was quiet, cozy and relaxing. The service staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Hardly met a good service staff for awhile.
There are having a 1 for 1 Coffee promotion, simply just order any 2 types/cup of coffee and they will charge the highest amount.

Thai Iced Tea - $5.50
The Thai iced tea was just average. The tea aroma wasn't strong enough and it was quite tasteless.
Yogurt - $5.50
The yogurt was good. The ingredients portion was very generous. It was full of fruits and sauce in the middle section. The yogurt was icy, creamy but wasn't flavorful enough.
Choco Loco - $1.50
The donuts was good. This donuts has a double layer of chocolate. The top layer of chocolate was creamy, think, sweet, and chocolaty. Middle layer of chocolate was hard and bitter. The dough texture was soft, spongy and chewy. The combination of two different type of chocolate was good.
Almond Chocolate - $1.50
It was good, the almond was crunch and goes well with chocolate syrup.

Overall, the food was good. The ambiance at suntec city outlet was quiet, cozy and relaxing. It was very quiet even on the weekend. The service was super bad over at Suntec city outlet, the service staff was rude, impatient and giving us the angry face. Wanted to complaint about it but is okay.

My Sister Bakes is the labor of love of both Isaac and Esther. Having been around almost 1.5 years doing just customized cakes, they have decided to expand into a cafe to create more happy tummies with both cakes and coffee.
Latte - $5.50
The latte wasn't that good. The coffee was quite acidic, bland and coffee aroma not strong.
Earl Grey Cake - $5.50 Per slice
The earl grey cream was just have the right amount of sweet, not too sweet, not too bland, and the earl grey aroma was strong. The cake texture was soft and spongy but the taste wise was a little bit bland.
Milo Cake - $5.50 Per Slice
The milo cake was pretty bad. The milo aroma wasn't strong and it was too sweet for my liking. The cake texture same as the above.
