Cafe Review: Ice Edge Cafe

16:07:00

Ice Edge Café started since August 2009, Desserts are specially created by the chefs to enhance the experience of tasting artisan gelato. Brownies, Lava cakes & Waffles are some of the desserts that are very popular. Tuck into sumptuous food and finish off with gelato & dessert. They expanded the menu & introduce traditional Italian & Western cuisines to complete the Ice Edge experience.

The sauces was make from scratch, using the freshest ingredients available, not depending on ready-made sauces that are easily obtained in the market. These sauces include: tartar sauce, honey mustard, black pepper, BBQ tomato, butter cream, mushroom sauce and many more. They also make their own pizza dough and garlic bread.

 Truffle fries - $8.90

A pretty normal fries. The truffle aroma wasn't strong enough, and the fries wasn't crispy too.

 Buffalo Wings - $10.80

It was pretty bad. The skin of the wing wasn't crispy, and the meat wasn't tender and juicy, it was a bit tough. The sauce was pretty average too, it was spicy but it wasn't that great.

 Linguine Alle Vongole - $16.90

It was pretty bad. The broth was on a sour side and the noodle was under cooked. But the portion of clams was quite generous. I wouldn't recommend you guys to try it.

Double Scoop Ice Cream - $13

The ice cream was good, it was creamy, fresh, and flavorful. The ice cream melted slowly too.

Mix & Match Waffle - $14.50

The ice cream was good as i decided on the previous dish. The waffle was pretty fine, but it wasn't good enough. It wasn't crisp and flavorful.

 Gelato Toast - $12.90

The gelato toast was really good. They fried the toast to perfection. The toast was really crunchy and savory. They even cut the toast into a small cube so that we can eat it in easy way. The strawberry cheesecake ice cream was creamy, milky and flavorful.

Mao Shan Wang Lava Cake - $14.50

The "Mao Shan Wang" lava cake wasn't that good. The lava cake, the LAVA didn't flow out as what we expected. The taste wise wasn't good too. It was bland, the durian aroma was super light and the cake texture was quite hard. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Food: 2/5
Ambiance: 3.5/5
Service: 3/5

Overall, the food was pretty fine, but it was a good place to chill out in the lazy afternoon or late night. The ambiance was really good, it was quiet and cozy. Suitable for friends/ladies to hang out for a afternoon tea or even desserts. It's a place that worth a try.
