Hawker Food Hunt: Holland Drive Market and Food Centre
15:07:00
Hi fellow readers, I'll be doing a hawker food hunt for this blog post entry!
I'll be hunting for more good and yummy local food now, so stay tune and be with me!
1. Ru Ji Kitchen.
Fishball Noodle - $4
Ru Ji fishball noodle is one of the must to try! The fishballs were soft and had a strong but not unpleasant taste of fresh fish meat. It was very bouncy too. The noodle texture was slightly dry but thick sambal chilli sauce and lard was really good. For your info, the thick sambal chilli sauce is made from garlic, shallots, candlenut, galangal and minced dried shrimps. And that make the fishball noodle delicious.

2. Vegetarian Food.
Vegetarian Food - $2.50 (5 Items)
It was crazy cheap!! The portion was very generous, The "Bee Hoon" was very smooth and flavorful. I can eat 3 plates on it by their having the "Bee Hoon" alone. The mock meat was slightly bad, as it was slight tough and tasteless. But the popiah was very yummy. The popiah was crispy, flavorful and is full of ingredients. The cabbage was fresh, flavorful and well stir-fried.
Taste: 3.75/5
3. Hakka Noodle.
Hakka Noodle - $4
It was really good, no wonder the queue was super long. The Hakka noodles were tossed in a delicious minced meat, sambal and lard sauce. The sambal chilli wasn't spicy and fragrant compared to Ru Ji. The soup served with the noodles was outstanding, the aroma was strong from the fresh fish meat, and the soup was clear, smooth and tasty. The ingredients was alright.
Taste: 3.25/5
4. New Lucky Claypot Rice.
Pork Ribs Claypot Rice - $6
I hardly eat claypot rice but this is really good! It was an elegant take on claypot rice with the flavors of the rice and sauce not being too overwhelming. The meat was tender and mild.
