Cafe Review: Old School Delights

16:21:00

Old School Delights is about re-living culinary memories of Singapore's past through authentic recipes handed down through generations. Inspirations behind the cafe lies in the desire to serve home styled food which is still prepared in a traditional manner, using quality fresh ingredients and rempah (paste) that is lovingly hand-cooked for at least 2 hours. What they eat at home is what you eat at OSD. It is their utmost pleasure to take you down memory lane where nostalgia and comfort food are entwined to enhance your dining experience.

 Kopi - $2.70

The coffee was pretty normal. The taste wise it's just like normal coffee shop coffee. Nothing special about it.

 Barley Lime - $3.90

The barley lime was very refreshing. It was sour-sweet, and fragrant.

 Otah - $2.50

I think it was a overpriced Otha. The otah was just normal. The taste wise wasn't that good, it wasn't spicy, and it was slight bland.

 Mee Siam - $5.80

The signature dish over at Old School Delights. It was pretty good, the gravy was thick, spicy, and had a good combination of sweetness and sourness. The most simple dish is the most testing chef skills. Glad that they master it.

Hainanese Chicken Cutlet Fried Rice - $9.80

This dish is a reinvention of the classic Hainanese Pork Chop. The chicken cutlet is light and crispy, the sweet and sour sauce was tangy. The garlic fried rice was bad, it was bland and tasteless, it just taste like normal white rice.
