1. 51 Mingfa Wanton Egg Noodle.
Wanton Mee - $3
The special noodles has a characteristic egg fragrance. The savory chilli is sweet and spicy and extremely complementary to the noodles. The char siew is well-roasted and the dumplings are tasty and flavorful. The soup is well-brewed with abundant anchovy sweetness.
Taste: 4/5
Bak Chor Mee - $3
The noodles are topped with generous quantities of minced pork, sliced pork, fresh pork liver, bits of fried pork lard, braised shitake mushrooms, spring onion, fish balls, and meat balls. The sauce is a super good with chilli and black vinegar.
Taste: 3/5
3. Xiang Rui Zhou Pin 祥瑞粥品.
Century egg with Minced Meat Congee - $3.50
The congee was thick, globbly, heavy yet smooth. The ingredients was fresh and the "You Tiao" was crispy and buttery. I like to add chilli padi into my congee as i would like it to be spicy. This is my way of eating congee.
Taste: 3/5
4. Bedok Cooked Food.
Roasted Pork, Duck, Char Siew - $18
The roasted duck skin was crispy and the meat was juicy and tender. Yum. Char Siew was very umami, soft and succulent. The roasted pork was quite disappointing as the skin wasn't crispy and the meat was a little bit tough.
Taste: 3.25/5
5. Jin Zhan Ji 金斩鸡.
Hainanese Chicken Rice - $3
The rice is fragrant, savoury and non-oily while the skinless chicken meat is silky smooth and delightfully tender. The chilli sauce and dark soy sauce are perfect with the chicken.
Taste: 2.75/5
