Food Review: Uncle Leong Seafood
17:10:00First founded in a neighbourhood coffeeshop amidst the friendly Ang Mo Kio estate, the ever-popular Uncle Leong Seafood has now heightened into three full-fledged restaurants at Punggol, Jurong East, and Toa Payoh. Still keeping its modesty, Uncle Leong Seafood welcomes a daily haul of customers comprising both locals and foreigners.
Chilli Crab - Seasonal Price
The Singaporean favorite " Chilli Crab", it was damn good. The chilli crab was spicy, robust, with just a tinge of nuttiness. Generously egg-dropped, the gravy was finger-licking good. The spiciness was just perfect. Non spicy eater should give it a try, you sure won't regret it.
Taste: 4/5
Nescafe Pork Ribs - $15
What an interesting dish. The pork ribs had the aroma of nescafe, yet none of the bitterness. I find that the pork ribs skins are not very crispy and the overall taste is a bit too astringent with the flavour of the nescafe. Meat was not tender enough too.
Taste: 1/5
Sambal Kang Kong - $
Everybody favorite, it's a must order dish for me. The Sambal Kang Kong was yummy. It was not overly spicy and the kang kong still retained the crunchiness.
Taste: 3/5
Food: 3.5/5
Ambiance: 3.5/5
Service: 2/5
Overall, The food over here was really good and value-for-money. It's a worthy trip. Chilli crab, and Shimmering Sand Crab Delight is a must try dish. I will surely be back again someday.
