Food Review: Nana Thai x Ah Chiang's Porridge

11:44:00

Sawadee Ka! If you want to eat more authentic Thai food in Singapore, Golden Mile Complex is definitely the place to go. Nana has been around for a few years but their food is from good to bad. Theie thai food quality drop a lot!!

Thai Iced Milk Tea - $1.50

Thai iced milk tea is a must drink for me whenever i visit a Thai restaurant. The milk tea was too sweet that you need a glass or a couple of water to drink afterthat.
Taste: 0.5/5

Tom Yum Seafood - $12

The tom yum was no longer the taste that was few year back. This tom yum soup tasted like those instant tom yum paste and the color wasn't the same as before.

Taste: 0/5

Stir fried kang kong - $7

The kangkong was good but if only it was more spicy. The kangkong was crunchy and well stir fried.

Taste: 2.5/5

Stir Fried Basil Pork - $10

SUPER AWFUL!! This was not basil pork!! It tasted like our local black carrot cake!! Don't ever order it!!

Taste: 0/5

Fried Pork Intestine - $12

It look quite gross or it look like fried insect!! The taste wise was quite tasteless. Not worth a try.

Taste: 0/5

Pad Thai - $5

The only decent dish!! It was moist and well-fried, and I was swooning with every bit; it was that good.
Taste: 3.5/5

Food: 0.5/5
Ambiance: 0.5/5
Service: 2/5

Overall, the food was awful!! The quality drop a lot and it doesn't a try anymore!! No wonder their restaurant was quite empty at peak hours.

Singaporean's popular choice, Ah Chiang's Porridge since 1968! Their current location at Tiong Poh Road was founded in 1971 by Ah Chiang's uncle. In 1995, Ah Chiang took over the business from his uncle and has been towering since.

Went to have supper with my watching soccer buddy after soccer match!!

Teh-O - $1

Teh - $1.20

Century egg with Sliced fish porridge - $5

The porridge was smooth, piping hot texture. It’s not as thick as I would like it to be but should be good enough for most. It’s rather lacking in terms of taste though but after adding in a few drops of light soya sauce and pepper before mixing them up,  that’s when everything changed. The amount of fish can be seen is very pathetic!!

Taste: 3/5

Century egg with Pork Porridge - $5.50 ( Add egg $0.50)

Taste: 3/5

You Tiao - $0.70

Don't order it cause it was very cold and soggy!!

Taste: 0/5

Cai Po Egg - $6

Average. The cai po wasn't that fragrance and i can't taste much of the cai po. I guess they put super little cai po in it!!

Taste: 0.75/5

Food: 1.75/5
Ambiance: 1/5
Service: 1/5

Overall, The porridge was satisfying for a cold weather. Price are very overpriced and the portion of ingredients are super little!! I guess it wasn't worth i anymore.
