Cafe Review: Knuckles

10:48:00

Knuckles, located a 5 minute walk away from Kovan MRT, serves up ridiculously affordable main! The place is opened up by the same people of Nakhon Kitchen, a highly popular Thai restaurant just a few steps down from Knuckles. The lighting of Knuckles is really dim, giving the whole place a bar/nightlife atmosphere. Not much decor is used in the place, just a few wall plants on faux pipelines and hanging exposed bulbs.

 Iced Chocolate - $4

Normal.

 Iced Lemon Tea - $4

It tasted very bland as if i am drinking plain water!

 Truffle Fries - $6

The truffle fries were amazing, with just the perfect amount of truffle oil infused in it,
not too strong and yet still distinct.

Taste: 3.5/5

 Pork Knuckle - $10

Being the signature item here, we just could not give Pork Knuckles a miss. Served de-boned, there’s no need for a mess as all you have to do is to just dig in and eat. The Pork Knuckles were tender and juicy in the inside, but the skin was very hard! The pickled vegetables on the side gave a sour but refreshing taste to the dish, whereas the mash potatoes were smooth and buttery along with the brown sauce served atop.

Taste: 3.5/5

Signature Pasta - $12

It tasted like seafood marinara, just added chilli in it. But it was really good, worth the try!

Taste: 3.5/5

Food: 3.5/5
Ambiance: 2/5
Service: 2/5

Overall, Knuckles Bistro is definitely a great spot to hit in Kovan, especially if you are looking for good and cheap western fare in the area.
