Cafe Review: L'etoile
14:23:00
Inspired by the indie cafes in Japan. L'etoile is a lifestyle shop cum cafe with Japanese-French influences. Located in the heart of Farrer Park area, it offers an off the beaten track venue for a quiet afternoon to be spent over drinking coffee and reading good books. Come evening when the sun has set, relax with a glass of wine amidst a surrounding of either simple clean cut furniture on the first floor, or an eclectic interior on the second floor.
Whole day brunch, main courses are served here and you can expect to enjoy artisanal coffee & desserts.
Iced Latte - $5.90
Coffee here was nothing extraordinary. Their blends of coffee are from different origins and are sourced internally. The coffee bean are roasted from them. I do enjoy the velvety smooth texture of how the milk is steamed.
Taste: 4/5
Iced Mocha - $5.90
Taste: 4/5
Truffle Fries - $12
Truffle fries was lacking of truffle aroma. The fries wasn't crispy enough too.
Taste: 1.75/5
Crab Meat Pasta - $20
The crab meat pasta was really really good!! I highly recommend everyone to try it!! The crab meat pasta sauce was sweet and addictive. The crab meat was fresh and soft.
Taste: 4/5
Gambatte (Prawn pasta in Tomato Base) - $21
The prawn was huge, fresh, firm and juicy. The pasta sauce was tangy and well combined with the pasta.

Overall, I really like the white washed shop front of L’etoile Café and the greens around it. It makes the café to be more inviting than it already is. No wonder all the accolades and features that the café received because it is well worth a visit, not only for its concept of a café mixed with retail, novelty décor and most importantly the value-for-money food choices you get here.
