Food Review: Cafe Insadong x Krispy Kreme x Boost Juice Bar

13:43:00

Insadong (인사동) 仁寺洞 is located in the heart of the Seoul, Korea – representing the focal point of Korean traditional culture and crafts, an important place where old but precious and traditional goods on display.

In Joseon Dynasty (1392~1910), it is a place of study for painters, today the area is still a center for the arts. Painters, craftsmen and art lovers continue to set up shop along the narrow alleys - there are about 100 galleries in the area, complemented with traditional restaurant and teahouses, ateliers and cafes making it a unique place full of folk crafts, pottery, and paintings.

Cafe Insadong brings together both the art and cafe culture of Korea - a place with aroma of brewing coffee, nice display of desserts on cake/ice-cream stands and a cosy ambience to complement the specially-chosen art pieces.

Red Bean and Sweet Potato Patbingsu - $12.30

The signature dessert, the Red Bean and Sweet Potato Patbingsu comes garnished with Taro ice cream and toppings such as red bean filled mochi [Japanese rice cake], roasted almond flakes and dried red dates. I absolutely love the wholesome combo of dense sweet potato purée together with the azuki[red beans] beans. And with no aftertaste of artificial sweetening to boot!

Taste: 3.5/5

Krispy Kreme is about yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Whether you’ve been a Krispy Kreme fan for years, or have just tasted a hot Original Glazed doughnut for the first time, we thought you might be interested to learn a bit about our long history. You may not know that we’ve been around for more than 70 years!

In April 2000, Krispy Kreme held an initial public offering of common stock. It opened the first international store in Canada just outside of Toronto in December 2001. The first stores outside North America opened in Sydney Australia and in London, England in 2003. Since then, Krispy Kreme stores have opened in Asia, Mexico, the Middle East, Puerto Rico and Turkey. In October 2013, Krispy Kreme Singapore opened at Tangs Orchard. We’re thrilled that the famous taste of Krispy Kreme has reached Singapore at last!

I have never tasted doughnuts with a texture this soft, fluffy, chewy and pillowy. Were they sweet? Even you are not sweet tooth like us, you will really fall for it!! It Goes well with a cup of hot green tea! :)

We highly recommend everyone to give it a try!!
