JB Cafe Review: IT Roo x Sangkaya

Awarded the “Best Chicken Chop in Malaysia” title by The Star newspaper in 2003, the cafe operates in the pre-war building which has attracted many locals and tourists. IT Roo Cafe is a standalone cafe at one corner of the shop house at the junction of Jalan Pahang and Jalan Dhoby.
During Dinner time, the cafe was full packed!!

The bandung was too sweet, as if i am drinking the syrup!! No Order this!

Chicken Chop with 2 eggs - RM 17
Chicken chop can be served either in black pepper or mushroom sauce. Not only the sauce, cooking style also can be choose, grill or fried.
For this chicken chop, i choose black pepper sauce in fried style. The fried chicken was huge but it was too dry and it lost the juiciness and flavor in it! The black pepper sauce wasn't that peppery and pepper aroma was very light!

Chicken Chop - RM 15
Choose grilled method with mushroom sauce. the deep brown colour of the mushroom sauce that looked ‘deceivingly’ robust and rich but upon tasting it, I was disappointed that it had an intense flavour of chicken seasoning powder and hence it wasn’t naturally flavoursome as I expected it to be if it was made from fresh chicken stock. It was too salty. The chicken was a little overcooked!

Overall, The chicken chop was overrated!! It's not worth a trip!
Do note It Roo Cafe is halal certified and it charges 6% GST and RM2 for the plate of peanuts on your table.

Sangkaya cafe is the latest addition in JB! They serving coconut ice cream and coconut water. It is located along the famous cafe street, Jalan Dhoby!
Coconut water - RM 5.90
The coconut water was very refreshing and the coconut aroma was strong!

Signature Coconut Ice cream - RM 9.90
The size of the ice cream is not what I expected, it was super small! The ice cream is just so good and refreshing. It’s not overly creamy but is light and taste like natural coconut instead of coconut essence. Its not overly sweet but its relatives to ones taste buds. It's come with 4 small scoop of ice cream and 3 free topping.

4. Choose your toppings and decorate your ice cream to be Insta-worthy

Overall, the coconut ice cream is really good. The service was good too.
