Hong Ji Herbal Claypot Bak Kut Teh was founded by Mr Lim Ah Suay more than a decade ago. With a passion to serve only good food, the owner took on hardship and pains to improvise the recipe overtime, making it his own signature herbal claypot bak kut teh. And here he is today, with 5 outlets across Singapore, Mr Lim wants to give customers an archaic taste of bak kut teh at a reasonable price and continue introducing delicious items on the menu for every generation.
Hong Ji Claypot Bak Kut Teh being herbal and flavoursome, is a class of its own, quite unlike the familiar Teochew peppery type, or the dark soya sauced Hokkien version.
Herbal Claypot Bak Kut Teh - $5.50
Hong Ji's bak kut teh broth comes in a claypot steaming and bubbling hot bubbles. Hong Ji managed to create a perfectly balanced blend of sweet, mildly herbal and savoury in a smooth, full bodied broth. It was not greasy too.

Overall, I think this is a nourishing take on Bak Kut Teh, what with the use of so many herbs in making the delectable soup. It is really worth a try!
