Food Review: Kogane Yama

Kogane Yama is a Japanese restaurant specialized in premium tendon bowls. Went to try it out with Alexis. We was quite disappointed with the food quality and the services! We find that one of the male staff was quite rude! The food quality was below par. The soba dish was tasteless, chawanmushi was bad either. The tempurs was just average, the off point was the chicken as it was tough and dry.

Dinner with Rachel on one find evening. What had we order?

Patbingsoo Burrito:

Kimchi fried rice, beef/pork belly, zucchini and carrot wrapped in tortilla skin served with french fries.

House Special Ramyeon

Smoking hot, delicious noodles, spam, kimchi and nori in special spicy soup.

49 Seats was established in 2012. Known for asian fusion cuisine and the first in Singapore to create Fish & Chips with Tom Yum Sauce. 49 Seats started our humble beginnings with just 49 seats at Kreta Ayer Road in 2012 and has since moved from a tiny shophouse to the city at the new and bigger location The Centrepoint #01-49.

Introducing Golden Escargot, the most tender and juicy escargot I have had.

Creamy Smoked Duck Pasta

Have you tried our Creamy Smoked Duck Pasta that is on the new menu? The slices of duck meat is not tough at all and the well marinated duck skin may just be the contributing factor for the popularity of this dish.

Fish and Chip with Alscampi Sauce -

The sauce tasted like clam chowder soup. I suggest not to pour all over the fish, instead just cut and dip into the sauce.

Pan Fried Fish with Alscampi Sauce -

The grilled dory fish is well marinated which comes the mother of all sauces “Alscampi sauce” that you can drizzle over the fish according to your liking. Alscampi sauce comes with prawns, mussels, and loads of baby clams.

Cheesy Chicken Chop -

The tender succulent meat is drenched with melted cheese and chili sauce. Choose any two sides from fries, garden salad, mash potato and pasta salad.

Chicken Chop with Mushroom Sauce -

The tender succulent meat is drenched with homemade mushroom sauce. Choose any two sides from fries, garden salad, mash potato and pasta salad. The mushroom sauce was really good!

My Verdict:
I enjoyed my dining experience at 49 seats the latest outlet Centrepoint. The food quality was good, a must to try was their golden escargot, tom yum pasta and chicken chop with mushroom sauce. You will never regret trying it.

Cafe Review: Nosh

Nosh, a tranquil escape from the daily urban humdrum. At Nosh, dining isn’t just about the destination; it’s about the journey. Step into any of our spaces located at 9 Rochester Park.

Moe on floral and forest theme cafe.

Went on to try this cafe with my buddy Vivian and photoshooting.

Truffles - $7++

The truffles fries was good, it was worth the price. I can taste the truffles at every bites.

Full Monty - $26++

Two Eggs choose from Poached/Scrambled/Fried, Pork Sausage, Bacon, Roast Potatoes, Grilled Tomato, Sautéed Mushroom, Yorkshire Pudding, Gravy. The only things we like was their scrambled egg, the rest was just average.

Pancakes - $14++

Three Stack Pancakes, Fresh Berries, Maple Syrup, Vanilla Cream. Soft pancake but it was dry and tasteless. Not worth a try.

Banana Walnut Loaf - $8++

Peanut Butter Ganache, Chocolate Hazelnut Crumble, Vanilla Ice Cream. This banana walnut loaf dessert cake was indeed good! I will be back again just for coffee and this banana walnut loaf.

Cafe Review: Soek Seng 1954 Bicycle Cafe

Recently I found a ulu cafe at Seletar area! So I decided to bring along my bro @oliverckd to try it out. And we even make vlog about it. Follow me and I will guide you thru out.

Soek Seng 1954 Bicycle Cafe is located at Seletar airport area. It's quite ulu and need to travel by car! They sell affordable food and also a insta-worthy place to go. I took a few photo over there.

Iced Latte - $6.50

Pretty average latte.

Chicken Wings Cut - $6

It just normal fried chicken wings where you get it at anywhere or even fried yourself.

Beef Randang - $10.80

The beef was a little tough but it tasted good. Minus point was their yellow rice!! It was too soggy to be consume.

Unatamadon - $8.80

For this price, this unagi don consider not bad. The unagi was fresh and moist. Just that it was lacking of some flavors.

Now let's enjoy the vlog that me and my bro did!!

JB Cafe Review: Once Upon a Time Cafe and Boutique

Saw this cafe on Instagram, so Vivian and I decided to go and take photo. This insta-worthy cafe ifs worth the go if you like taking photo and the ladies will definitely love this cafe. It's located in JB and is about 30mins journey from JB Custom.

Have fun viewing some of our photo and food.

What had we order?

Smoked Duck Pizza -

Our favourite dish! The pizza was ultra thin and crisp, The smoked duck was well combine with all the ingredient in it. A worthy try.

Nutella and Banana Waffles -

I guess nothing will goes wrong with nutella! Waffles was crisp and moist.

Ham and Cheese Waffles -

The waffles for this dish was soft but it still good, the sauce and make everything taste better.

Strawberry Milkshake -

Iced Latte -

My Verdict:
A good place to chill in the day time ot even nigh time. A place for a photoshoot or just simply spend a day with your date.

Cafe Review: Wildseed cafe

Found this ulu cafe on instgram, so I decided to give it a try with my buddy @xchubbykitty Vivian.

Nestled at the ground level of The Summerhouse is delightful Wildseed, a café, patisserie and bar where summer lingers through the scent-filled days and into the night.

For sweets-lovers, what better way to enjoy a cup of coffee than with luscious pastries created by 1-Group’s Pastry Chef, Jasmin Chew. While indulging in a selection of freshly made cakes and tarts, enjoy a coffee from coffee roaster, Nomad the Gallant.

Looking for a memento of summer? A bouquet of fresh seasonal blooms is the perfect takeaway from Poppy Flora Studio.

Outdoor dining area - During the day time is can get super hot and humid. I guess best time to visit them will be in the evening.

Indoor dining area with poppy flora studio in it. You can buy a rose or bouquet to make your loves one happy too.

Food time! Time to feed our hungry tummy.

F'ed Up Fries - $12++

Well fried fries with lots of chili and cheese on it. The portion is really huge, recommend to share it with 3-4 pax depend on how much you can eat.

Sambal Linguine - $24++

Unique dish that you don't see it often in a cafe! what a great creation. Linguine with Cherry tomatoes from Cameron Highland, Sambal, Fresh prawn and ended with some Parsley. Spicy lover alert! This dish is quite spicy, non spic lover might want give it a miss as you might can't accept the spiciness.

Pandan Waffles with Butterfly Pea Flower Coconut soft serve - $14++

You can CHOOSE YOUR FLAVOUR:

1) Nutella | Almond flakes | Chocolate pops

2) Kaya | Fresh coconut | Granola

3) Honey ham | Mixed cheese | Maple syrup
We went on to try out this waffles with chose 1. Its a great combination overall, waffles was moist, soft, crisp and flavorful. Soft serve ice cream was the one that make this dish even better. Don't give it a miss!!

Citronella Passionfruit Cheesecake - $7.50++
I am not a cheesecake fan but this cheesecake is good and worth it. I won't mind go back again for the cakes and coffee.
