Cafe Review: Gudetama Singapore
08:18:00Finally got my hands on the highly rated Gudetama Cafe!
For those not familiar with the Sanrio cartoon character, Gudetama is a very, very lazy cartoon egg with bleary eyes and a persistent reluctance to get up and going. It is often seen hidden under a bacon blanket or sprawled belly-down, and as a raw egg, an omelette, a sunny-side-up or some other egg dish. Even its name acknowledges how unmotivated it is: “Gude” is a descriptive term for someone or something with no energy or strength, while “Tama” stems from tamago or egg in Japanese.
Straw-very Lazy - $8.50++ (Left)
Strawberry infused rose tea spruced up with lychee and strawberry.
Hula Hula - $8.50++
Mango infused rose tea topped with fresh strawberry.
Both drink tasted normal, and nothing special about it.
Big (Tua) Breakfast - $28.50++
It came with bacon, sautéed mushroom, greens, baked beans, 1 French toast topped with 2 sunshine eggs. It was nicely plated but the taste I think it was just pretty normal.
Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict - $26.50++
Poached eggs with smoked salmon over mashed avocado on brioche toast drizzled with Yuzu hollandaise sauce, served with seasonal greens. I really like this dish as the yuzu hollandaise sauce goes super well with all the ingredients and also it was very addictive. I will recommend everyone to give it a try.
Citrus Pan - $8.50++ (left)
Citrus cake in chocolate tarts. The chocolate tarts wasn't that appetising but overall it tasted normal.
Strawberry Egg Shell - $9.50++
The strawberry cake is really good! The cake was fragrance, moist and creamy.
