Food Review: Keng Eng Kee

08:01:00

Back in the 1970s, Keng Eng Kee Seafood started off from a stall in Old Havelock Road Hawker Centre. Upon the demolition of the former Havelock Road Hawker Centre, Keng Eng Kee Seafood shifted to Alexandra Village.
Till now, the name had stayed for more than 20 years. They are fortunate that they had grown, from a small rented stall to a bigger premise at their current location. Most importantly, they are happy that they have gained the support of their loyal customers who had been dining with them through these years.

Moonlight Hor Fun - $5

A simple yet perfectly-executed dish rich with smokiness. The raw egg cooked by the heat of the flat noodles, that retained a bite, provided a sultry texture.

Taste: 4/5

Claypot Pig Liver - $12

The Claypot Liver is drizzled with some wine and it has got just the right texture with a robust sauce. I can eat simply 2 bowl of rice with the sauce.

Taste: 4/5

Sambal Kangkong - $8

The sambal kangkong was too good!! It was not over spicy nor too soggy. The spiciness was perfect, the kangkong was fresh, crunchy and fragrance.

Taste: 4/5

Salted Egg Squid - $8

The only disappointing dish at KEK. Lacking of salted egg aroma and it taste. Not crispy enough and it was slightly bland too.

Taste: 0/5

Food: 3.5/5
Ambiance: NA
Service: 2/5

Overall, the moonlight hor fun is a must try dish when you visit KEK. Claypot liver is my favourite dish among all. I will be back again in future for more awesome dish.
