Cafe Review: Five By Five

16:02:00

November 8 Café which closed at Thomson V Two to the dismay of fans, has reopened as Five by Five at Thomson V One on the other side of the building. It's the same guys behind both establishments. They're back! New name, new concept, new location. The design and themed was different, from black walls to white walls, wooden tables to marble tables, ambient lighting to natural lighting.

African Red Chocolate (Hot) - $6

An intense dark chocolate experience, deep and powerful, with delightful hints of plum, dried cherry and sun-dried muscatels. It finishes off with an amazing textural resonance on the tongue and in the mouth that echoes delightfully for an age.

Taste: 4/5

  5by5 Breakfast - $15.50

Choice of sunny or scrambled eggs, chorizo sausages, bacon, honey ham, mushroom & tomato, served on toast with greens by the side.

The runny scrambled was perfectly made, it is my kind of egg that i wanted!! The chorizo was meaty, chewy and juicy. Toast was soft and moist.

Taste: 3.5/5

Waffles with Ice cream - $10.20

The freshly-made waffle whiffed of alluring buttery fragrance even before it reached our table. It was moist fluffiness and crispy outer texture but it was slightly bland too. A total of 12 flavours were available for the ice cream. The ice cream was rich, creamy, yam-my and yummy.

Taste: 3.5/5

Food: 3.75/5
Ambiance: 2/5
Service: 2/5

Overall, the food was good and it really worth a try or many!! Price was reasonable, there are no Service tax, but there is a GST.
