Food Review: Eng's Noodles House Wanton Mee 荣高面家
12:12:00Eng's Noodle House on Tanjong Katong Road now fits right into the road lined with hip as well as traditional food outlets. The noodle house is now run by former hawker Thomas Ng's son, Desmond, who had resigned from his IT sales job to expand the venture. The firm egg noodles and char siew used to be made by the senior Ng but they are now factory-made to the Ngs'
Order Form.
Water Chestnut - $1.50
Lime Juice - $1.50
Wanton Mee - $5.50
The noodles does not came with the traditional chili sauce but instead well seasoned with sesame oil, lard, other secret sauces and cooked to the perfect texture, I can taste and smell the aroma of the noodles. The charsiew have great caramelization with bits of fats. The pinkish pork filling were chewy and meaty.
Taste: 4.25/5
HOT CHILLI -
The super spicy chilli lives up to its name as it was extreme spicy!! The chilli was really awesome, a small drop will even kill a non chilli eater.
Fried Wanton - $5
These delightful pieces of fried wanton were a joy to have, particularly with mayonnaise!

Overall, I am glad that this wanton mee legend has continued in this era. If you haven't try it yet, please do. It is worth traveling all the way for it. You will regret if you never try it.
