Vietnam Food Review: NamNam Noodle Bar, Little Vietnam Restaurant and Cafe
15:07:00Jthejon food hunt continue.
This food hunt I'll be hunting on Vietnamese cuisine.
My first stop will be at Nam Nam Noodle Bar.
NamNam Noodle Bar was founded by Director and Owner Chef Nam through his love for cooking and exceptional culinary skills.
Nam embarked on a culinary expedition around the world. He has worked in various award-winning restaurants and hotels – such as the one Michelin star Le Canard Oslo and the prestigious Sukhothai Bangkok, where he took the reins as Executive Chef.
Nam returned to his roots and opened NamNam Noodle Bar. The casual quick-service noodle bar took 5 years of careful planning and strategizing before making its maiden debut in the bustling Raffles City Shopping Centre, conveniently located in the heart of Singapore, on 15 October 2012. Based on old-world recipes with a modern twist, the robustly flavoured dishes transport diners to the vibrant streets of Vietnam.
Vietnam coffee with condensed milk - $2.60
The coffee was rich, light aroma and low acidity. The coffee was good.
Pho beef combination - $9.90
beef steak slices (served medium rare), beef balls, beef shank, tendon, honeycomb tripe
The beef pho broth was flavorful, sweet, and tasty, yet it was clean and light at the same time. adding further to the broth which is boiled for over 24 hours. The flavor was perfect, subtle hint of herbs, aromatic yet not overwhelming. There's no MSG added. The ingredients was fresh and tasty too. The beef ball was the bomb, it was meaty, chewy and tasty.
Beef Balls - $2.50
Extra topping.
Food: 4.5/5
Ambiance: 2.5/5
Service: 2.5/5
Overall it was good. The food was really good, the best pho i had so fast. I am a regular customers of Nam Nam Noodle Bar. The ambiance wasn't that good, as it was always crowed and noisy. Not suitable for family or group dining. Some outlets the service was slow but it worth the wait.

My second stop will be at Little Vietnam Restaurant.
Located in Paya Labar, Little Vietnam opened since October 2007, and it gained a lot of regular customers and most of the customers are Vietnamese.
Vietnamese Dip Coffee - $5.90
The coffee cup comes with a stainless metal drip filter on top that allows the coffee to slowly trickle through the press and into the cup. The coffee is extremely rich and robust. It's not really my kind of coffee.
Fresh Spring Roll - $3.90
Vietnamese fresh spring roll with prawn, rice noodle, fresh veggies and herbs with dark sweet salty brown sauce.
The spring roll was fantastic. It was fresh, sweet and healthy. It's a must to dip with brown sauce. It enhanced the taste of the fresh spring roll.
Gong Gong (Snail) - $9.90
The gong gong here is served with an addictive sour salt dip. The gong gong was fresh and tasty. The dip was perfect.
Beef Pho - $11.90
Herbs, beef, beansprout, spring onion, onion, and black pepper.
Good broth matters for pho with right amount of herbs, it was pretty good. The ingredient was fresh and the herbs wasn't overwhelming too.
Food: 3.5/5
Ambiance: 3/5
Service: 3/5
Overall the food was great, the atmosphere was cozy and warmth in the indoor, the large outdoor area that looks like a good chill-out spot at night. It is a good place to have dinner with friends, colleagues or family.
