Sichuan Mala and Pork Ribs Soup base
The Sichuan Mala broth was really spicy, if you are a spicy lover you should it a try. The spiciness will burn your tongue beware!!
The pork ribs broth was just average. The broth was brand and tasteless. I feel like i am drinking plain water with MSG.
Fresh Prawn
The fried golden bun was damn good. It was crispy, sweet and was super soft on the inside. It's a must-dish.
Food: 3/5
Ambiance: 4/5

Second trip, Astons.
It started out as one man's dream…
Aston Soon had a simple wish – to bring quality Western cuisine to the masses at affordable prices. With an idea, and the support of family and friends, he left his job as a restaurant chef to strike out on his own in 2005.
ASTONS SPECIALITIES had its humble beginnings in a coffeeshop along East Coast Road. Before long, it gathered a loyal following (and a fair share of media interest) for its tasty fare, reasonable prices and sincere service.
Listening to customers' feedback, ASTONS SPECIALITIES shifted a few doors down and into its own shop-front, so that customers could dine in a more spacious and comfortable environment. Considering customers' needs and responding to their suggestions and feedback proved to be an important factor for success. Within a few years, the ASTONS brand established itself as a household name, synonymous with quality and affordability.
Lemon Lime Chicken - $9.90
The chicken was tender, juicy, and well grilled. It wasn't too oily too. The lemon lime was sweet-sour and tangy. The mash potatoes was creamy, flavorful and soft. The sauce was light and flavorful, if only the sauce will be more it will be better. The garden veggie wasn't fresh and it has a weird taste.
Historic bbq chicken - $9.90
The historic bbq was good, it was thick, flavorful and savory. The baked potato was just normal.
Crispy fried chicken - $9.90
The crispy fried chicken was normal. It wasn't that crispy, the taste was just normal fried chicken. The mac and cheese was good. It was creamy, cheesy and flavorful
Food: 2.5/5
Ambiance: 1.5/5
Service: 2/5
Overall, the food was good and cheap. It was one of my favorite place to have a quick western food fix. The ambiance was noisy and crowed, as i am in a coffee shop.

With prices like these, you will not want to miss them!
Chawanmushi - $2.90
The chawanmushi (steamed egg) was just normal. It wasn't eggy and flavorful enough. It was quite bland.
Korean spicy chicken set - $7.90
The spicy chicken was good, it was well marinated, spicy and the chicken was tender. The miso soup was bad, it was so salty and bland.

The beef was tender and flavorful-spicy as the beef adsorbed the spicy broth.
Braised Beef Brisket Noodle (Authentic braised beef soup) - $10.90
The broth was silky, rich, flavorful and good. The beef brisket was chunky and tender. There isn't any gluten and fat.

Pork Belly - $15.40
Pork Belly Braised In Kakuni Style Served With Duxelle Mushrooms, Onsen Egg & Potato Foam.
This was simply fantastic! The pork belly was relatively tender but had quite a fair bit of fat, giving it a nice wobbly texture. The flavors of the foam mixed with the Onsen egg & the pork belly was heaven. The only i dislike about it was the mushroom. I felt that the mushroom was crashing with the dish.
Duck Leg Confit - $14.90
Mashed Potatoes, Braised Savoy Cabbage, Au Jus
A classic French dish is the French Duck Leg Confit was really good. The duck leg confit itself has a nice crispy skin while the meat could be more tender. The braised cabbage was something out of the dish and it wasn't that good. A creative dish but it tasted just above average.
