KL Food Review: ICC Pudu Imbi Market
07:35:00For many people living in the Bukit Bintang area, life without Imbi Market on Jalan Melati is inconceivable. The wet market, home to a mammoth offering of fresh produce and local food, had to relocate again after 30 years to make way for the mega Tun Razak Exchange project (60 years ago, the market occupied the space where Fahrenheit 88 is located currently). More than 250 vendors were expected to shift since April 22 to the Integrated Commercial Complex (ICC), which accommodates up to 293 stalls for market traders, a food court with 83 lots, along with 576 parking bays for cars and 92 for motorcycles. The complex will soon introduce a banquet hall that can fit at least 1,000 people, as well as a multi-purpose hall equipped with badminton, volleyball and basketball courts. (Source: Time Out.com)
Follow was on what we had try at the new Imbi Market.
Ah Fook Chee Cheong Fun is one of the most famous stall in this wet market.
Sisters Crispy Popiah - Second highly rated stall by the local.
Popiah -
The popiah is full of ingredients and the chili was hot and spicy. Spicy lover like me will definitely love it. So Spicy lover if you popiah go try it. It definitely worth the price and calories.
Chicken Noodles -
Trying out the chicken noodles from the same stall. The chicken noodle came with springy and al-dente noodles, veggies, char siew, chicken slices, mushroom, black sauce and spring onion. The black sauce was similar to our local wanton mee. It was not bad.
Ah Fook Chee Chong Fun - The chee chong fun came in 3 versions, "Plain, Curry, Yong Tau Foo", you can choose which type you like. As for us, We order all 3 types and try it out. The plain version with lots of chili was super good, it was very spicy and shiok. The curry flavor wasn't that fantastic as we find it weird. The yong tau foo version was good too, the chili and sweet sauce combined well. The yong tau foo ingredients you can choose urself, no minimum or maximum pieces.
