Food Review: Thai Boat Noodles at Bedok Point

12:54:00

Thai Boat Noodle, traditional noodle dish originates from Thailand. It’s called boat noodle because the noodle was originally served from vendors on boat floating along canal banks of Bangkok. Boat noodles are serving in small portions as this was done in the past to prevent the noodles from spilling out of the bowls in choppy waters.

Thai Boat Noodle at Bedok Point sells their Mini Boat Noodle with dry or soup versions at $1.

Condiments -

Thai Milk Tea - $3.50 ++

This Thai milk tea was on the sweet side but the tea aroma was strong and fragrance.

Taste: 1.25/5

Pad Thai - $7.80 ++

The chef recommended pad thai! This pad thai was good. It was savoury and sweet at the same time. It was really addictive. I highly recommend everyone to give it a try.

Taste: 4.25/5

Pork Leg - $7.80++

This dish comes from Khun Aum's grandmother's traditional recipe. The pork leg is marinated for at least 2 hours, and braised for 4 - 6 hours until tender.

The meat was really tender and it could melt in my mouth! The sauce was savoury and a tad sweet so that the sauce won't be too savoury.

Taste: 4/5

Boat Noodle - $1

The boat noodle came in dry, soup, spicy or non spicy, tom yum and glass noodle salad.
For tom yum and glass noodle salad, it will cost $0.50 more.

Rice noodle with pork ball, kang kong, bean sprout in pork broth. The noodle texture was quite tough and cold. The pork broth was quite salty too as we need to drink lots of water after that.

Taste: 0/5

Dry and spicy version -

I like the spicy version as the spicy was really damn shiok! The chilli was really hot and spicy, i am sure the spicy lover will love it too!

Taste: 1.5/5

Tom Yum Boat Noodle -

Rice Noodles with prawn, fish slice, bean sprout, tomato wedge, kang kong in tom yum broth. The tom yum was sourish and spicy. The level of spiciness is just average so the non spicy eater can consume it too.

Taste: 1.5/5

Spicy Glass Noodle Salad -

Glass noodle with pork ball in spicy dressing. We don't really like the taste of the spicy dressing as it was very sourish instead of spicy and it has the weird taste in it.
