Food Review: The Study

12:32:00

Inspired by British cafe culture and great classic comfort foods from around the world, THE STUDY is a casual bistro that will be an addition to the eclectic mix of tenants along vibrant Keong Saik Road.

A tribute of quality and an invaluable remake of the English quintessential culture, THE STUDY will be serving good ole bistro fare in a Chinese cultural enclave.

As if entering a preserved example of Britain's post-war cafe, the bistro is an unorthodox fixture where guests can expect a laid-back and fun environment with quirky décor and knick-knacks, amongst a few other contemporary twists one might stumble upon.

Plantain Chips - $6

The chips was just normal chips.

Earl Grey Salon - $35

It was really good. First trying earl grey salmon, the earl grey aroma was strong but it wasn't overwhelmed and the salmon was fresh, soft, smooth, moist and the texture was "Melt in your mouth" feeling. The fried salmon skin beside it was good.

Taste: 3.5/5

Pork Collar - $34

The pork collar was very tender, fresh and well grilled. The grilled potato came along with it was just pretty normal.

Taste: 3/5

Bakewell Tart - $17

Nice plating. The strawberry sorbet was fresh, smooth and sourish.

Taste: 3/5

Rice Pudding - $16

The rice pudding was good, the texture was creamy, soggy, and milk, mango aroma was strong. It was slightly sweet too. The mango sorbet goes well with it.

Taste: 2.5/5

Strawberry Shortbread - $18

Taste: 2/5

Food: 3/5
Ambiance: 2.5/5
Service: 4/5

Overall, the food was really good but it was very pricey. The ambiance was cosy and elegant. Service wise was great.
