Cafe Review: Common Chefs Cafe and Bakery

Common Chefs is a cafe plus bakery concept that offers food like burgers, crispy comfort sides, stews, desserts, freshly brewed coffee and cakes within the space. You can both sit in the homey dining area or do take away. Located in the North of Singapore – Sembawang, Common Chefs is a great spot for friends or families to gather and relax.

Coffees are all freshly brewed in Common Chefs by in-house barista. Slice cakes, cupcakes, macaroons, and cookies are all freshly made in house. If you are planning a party or event, feel free to approach the staff and they can work out a package for you to your theme and your budget. You can also fill up the online form and they will get back to you.

I was invited down for a food tasting at Common chefs along with fellow influencers.

 Sour Cream Fries -

Well fried crispy fries seasoned with sour cream granulate.


Truffle Tatters Tots -

The best Tatters tots that I ever had! Well fried crispy mini potatoes and truffle add a little magic to it. Highly recommended by all of the bloggers! Rate 5/5


Rich Man (Available on weekend) -

My next personal favorite dish was Rich man at Common chefs! This dish is only available on weekends! 

Chorizo patty with layered smoked cheddar, caramelised onion, satueed mushrooms and then filled with scrambled eggs and truffle mayo. Served with melted cheddar sauce and tatter tots on the side. A dish that you shouldn't miss out. 




The Boss - 

Featuring crowds favourite Boss Burger, sandwiching all the sinfully yet shiok ingredients that make it totally #likeaboss. Double beef patty cooked to medium that is packed with juices, complemented with bacon, egg, sautéed mushrooms and caramelized onions in between soft toasted buttered brioche buns.


 Shepherd Pie -

Amazing dish of minced meat, mash potatoes, sautéed mushrooms cover with mozzarella cheese !


 Fish Goujons - 

What we have going on here is spicy fish goujons layered on mesclun salad topped with tomato concasse that is heavy with Common Chefs' special Mexican mayonaise and topped with black raisins. Wrapped in a wheat tortilla with a wedge of lime squeezed over the top . That's not all, it also comes with house corn tortilla chips on the side. 


 Salsa Salsa - 

Baked Chorizo, Sautéed Mushrooms, Spinach, Tomato Salsa and Egg Yolk. Served with Sliced Brioche Toast. Their Sliced Brioche Toast is so soft! 


 Okonomiyaki Wazza -

New creation from Common chefs, choose from 3 different choices - full breakfast, okonomiyaki and go green (vegetarian). The okonomoyaki might not appear as photogenic as compared to the full breakfast with a sunny side up atop but the flavours and palatability were definitely on point! 

A savoury buttermilk waffle topped with tuna flakes, fried tamago (a pan fried omelette), topped with tonkatsu sauce, Japanese mayo and bonito flakes. The waffles was thick, crisp with a soft and fluffy interior. The tuna flakes had a characteristic fishy flavour that's actually real leggit tuna fish minced to pieces and not the dried flakes! Coupled with a thin but huge layer of fried omelette topped with a smoky, BBQ-alike tonkatsu sauce and creamy mayonnaise, the bonito flakes also added a pleasant umami note. A fusion of jap, Italian and western cuisine that was a perfect harmonious combination for my palate.

My Verdict: 
Pocket friendly cafe, with NETT price and the food was extreme good no wonder this cafe is getting more and more crowds! I definitely will be back for more. Apologies for the bad quality photo, that definitely will be back to take more chio photo.
