Cafe Review: Tai Cheong Bakery
08:07:00Tai Cheong Bakery was established in 1954. In 2014, to celebrate the 60 years anniversary of Tai Cheong Bakery, the brand is well-received as the Hong Kong’s collective memory. Tai Cheong Bakery is a famous and traditional bakery of Hong Kong that is most well-known for its egg tarts (蛋撻) and Chinese donut (沙翁). Among Hong Kong’s cuisine, egg tarts represent as the top five of the most popular snacks in Hong Kong. As the innovator of butter-flavoured shortcrust pastry and with the long history of Tai Cheong Bakery, its egg tarts are ranked as the number 1 in Hong Kong by many local and global media and tourists.
Finally tried out Tai Cheong Bakery cafe that located in Holland Village.
HK Milk Tea -
Tasted similar in HK, just that the milk tasted slightly stronger.
The famous egg tarts! Extreme soft and smooth wobbly egg custard, buttery fragrance, and soft crust. Highly recommend to try it!
Chiffon cake! The cake was disappointing! It was dry and tasteless.
The curry fishball tasted pretty average, the curry taste different in HK and it was quite watery.
Butter toasted bun with Condensed milk ~
Normal toast that you can make it too.
Spam Fries -
It was not in the menu but we requested for it, end up with disappointment. Don't ever order it.
Swiss Chicken Wings -
Well braised wings, the braised gravy was well cooked with lots of spices. The wings was well braised and tender.
Scrambled egg with toast -
By looking at it, the egg looks extreme appetizing. We topped up luncheon meat on it.
Cheese Baked Rice with beef, truffle and mushroom cream -
Order this to try as we saw most of the table ordering it! Turn out it was good. I can taste the truffle in every bite and the cheese was well spreaded.
