Cafe Review: Sin Lee Foods Cafe

15:56:00

Sin Lee Foods cafe is a retro indie style cafe which located at Jalan Bukit Ho Swee. The cafe retained the old establishment name & signboard. It adopts a more industrial design, with the standard grey cement flooring, brown tables and brick walls concept. Nice and cozy cafe for a meal!

Cosy little cafe situated below a HDB block, converted from a coffee-shop literally, and still retaining its traditional beauty that will make one feel nostalgic.

Latte $5,

Roasted by Papa Pahleta.

Slightly nutty with just the right amount of acidity, the shot sat well amidst the mildly sweet frothy milk.

Aburi Broccoli Salad $10,

Served with Smokey Thorched broccoli florets, white balsamic, Papadum, Red Sugar.

It a must-try dish. Trust me you won't regret it!! The aburi broccoli salad tasted salty and crispy, it was really good.

Salted egg sweet potato fries $11,

Served with fried sweet potato fries, house made salted duck's egg sauce, crispy curry leaves.

Interesting dish. It tasted just like local "Tze Zhar" salted egg crabs, but now it in sweet potato version.

  Spud & Fish $16,

Served with House made russet potato cake, Cold smoked Norwegian salmon, Soft centered egg, Buttermilk Hollndaise, Dijon mustard, Fresh greens, Lemon dressing & White chocolate shavings.

What and unique and creative dish. The russet potato cake was soft and the sauce was well blended into this dish. Everything was perfect!!

 Sin Lee's Fried chicken & Waffles $21.90,

Juicy boneless chicken leg, Iron waffle, House Slaw & Melted maple butter.

The most adventurous dishes is the one and only Sin Lee's Fried Chicken and Waffles. The juicy boneless chicken leg working well with the waffle and the melted maple butter sauce. But i think the waffle is a bit too thick and not crisp enough.

S'mores Sundae $9,

Chocolate, Mashmallows & Graham Crackers.

The kids will definitely like it. The sweetness was alright and graham crackers make the dessert more tasty.

Food: 4.25/5
Ambience: 4.5/5
Service: 5/5

Definitely worth the visit, prices-wise they aren't the cheapest in town, but I do appreciate the fact that they are pretty innovative and not just serving up typical cafe food in an pretty cafe.

Thanks Sean for the invitation and the great hospitality.

That's all for this entry.
See ya guys soon!
