1st stop, November 8 Cafe. 

November 8 cafe was opened by 3 friends who shared the same passion for quality gourmets. This new cafe fits into the community of delectable food found along Upper Thomson Road.

 Cozy place, peaceful ambience. The interior design was quite simple. The painting on the wall make the cafe more attractive. 



 Latte ($4.50), 

November 8 is a famous for their coffee. The coffee here is brewed with their own blend. The coffee was aromatic and smooth. 

Mocha ($5),

Great!!

 Potato Rosti ($16.50), 

Potato rosti, Scrambled Eggs, Gourmet Sausage, Bacon, Green salad.

The Rosti was fragrant and crispy at the sides. Scrambled eggs was a bit too creamy and the rest was good. 

Big Breakfast ($19.50),

Scrambled eggs, Gourmet Sausage, Bacon, Gourmet York Ham, Honey Ham, Tomato, Sauteed Mushroom, Roasted Potato, Focaccia Bread. 

The portion was really big. It too big for me to finish it. Sauteed mushroom was nice, well seasoned. And the rest of the thing is similar to potato rosti.

Prices were NET and inclusive of GST charges. The staffs was friendly and knowledgeable. It great to see the staffs that always put on a smile. This place had a hipster vibe with indie music playing. It a good place to chill on a weekday afternoon. 


2nd stop, Jewel Cafe and Bar.

Artisanal coffee house, Jewel Coffee at One Shenton, owner Adrian Khong has since introduced a Cafe + Bar concept at Rangoon Road in the heart of the quaint neighbourhood of Little India.
Jewel Cafe and Bar offers an extension menu featuring all-day breakfast and unique creations

 Latte ($5.5),

Their espresso-based coffee specialties that are lovingly pulled with their Italian La Marzocco Strada machine. Their coffee beans are imported from Brazil, Ethiopia and Sumatra, each having their own distinct taste, aroma and acidity. The coffee was really good.

 Umami Prawn Capellini ($20),

Grilled prawns, homemade crustacean oil, topped with bonito flakes.

The pasta tasted quite plain, the prawns was fresh and huge. But it quite an unique dish. 

 Chili Crab Pasta ($20),

Linguine tossed in homemade spicy chilli crab sauce garnished with crispy fried mantou,
 I find it too sweet for me. But overall it was good and unique dish. Is a mutt-try dish. 

Truffle Fries ($10),

The truffle fries was really disappointing!! It was really bad, not recommended!!

The service was very bad, as there forgotten our order and the food was served quite slow even when not much people. Food standard was just average, but the coffee was good, i wouldn't mind just go for a coffee break over here. 

3rd stop, Hatter Street.

Hatter Street Bakehouse and Cafe  is a fairly new Alice In Wonderland inspired cafe that is situated in the quiet Kovan/Hougang heartland. It was opened by chef-owner Yvette Chua. Yvette graduated from the Culinary Institute of Amercia and trained at 3 Michelin.

Green Tea with Ginseng ($5.90)

Vanilla ice cream with salted caramel sauce ($8.90),

Waffle was crispy and fluffy. The vanilla ice cream was smooth, creamy and flavorful. 

Chocolate Ice cream with Chocolate Sauce ($8.90)

We had to order the waffles from the counter and the servers would bring it to us when it was ready. Hatter street cafe the space is rather small so I would not recommend large group gatherings.

4th stop, Grub.

GRUB is a casual bistro that features responsible ingredients, inspired menu and delicious food. Helmed by Mervyn, better known as the man behind Cookyn, Inc.

Crispy Fish Burger ($14),

Crumbed fish fillet, remoulade

The popular dish at grub. The fish fillets portion was really huge but the taste wise was just normal. 

Grub Double Cheeseburger ($18),

100% grass-fed and free-range beef from New Zealand, Monterey Jack Cheese.

Beef patty was well seasoned, tender and juicy. The beef patty wasn't that huge but it was thick and film. 

Churros ($8.50),

Dark chocolate, tangy creme anglaise.

I am not really a fan of churros. Churros basically is fried dough with sugar something similar to our chinese "youtiao". I feel that the churros was very bland and dry.

Service was slow and not really attentive enough. 
The ambience is really good over there. I can say is the perfect spot for dating couple. 

5th stop, Cornerstone.

Lying admist the tropical greenery of Bishan Park is this casual 160-seater bistro with outdoor tables along the corridor, indoor seatings and private rooms. Cornerstone is a pet friendly cafe.

Cesar Salad ($8),

The salad dressing was a bit too much. 

Buffalo Wings ($12),

The wings was well marinated, hot and spicy. You can choose the level of spiciness. 

Seafood Aglio Olio ($18),

Prawn, Mussels, Fish.

Noodle texture was good. But the taste wise was a bit bland and not spicy enough.

Fish and Chips ($18),

Cod Fish.

The fish was well marinated. The beer well blended into the fish. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the insde. Fish was soft and fresh. 

Double Cheeseburger ($22),

Beef patty, focaccia bread. 

The beef patty was well seasoned, tender and juicy. But the beef patty portion was a bit too small. 

Chicken Katsu Don ($10),

Chicken was well fried, soft and tender. It came with a miso soup. 

Pork Katsu Don ($10),

Pork was a bit tough and tasteless. It was quite a failed dish.

Service was really good. The waiters was really friendly and knowledgeable. 
Ambience was really good. Cozy place to chill. 

6th stop, Paris Baguette Cafe. 

Paris Baguette is a Korean cafe famous with its wide selection of bakery products, desserts, tea, coffee and vibrant environment.

Mini Cheese cake ($6),

The cheesecake was soft, spongy and fragrant. 

Wahaha Chocolate cake ($7.50), 

The chocolate cake was creamy, fragrant, soft and not too sweet. 

Royal Pudding ($3),

It make up of few layers, the pudding was really amazing. It a must-to-try when you came over here.

Overall, I like its clean open concept, and its wide selection from bread, sandwiches, salads to puddings for takeaways for the busy lunchtime crowd. 

7th stop, Createaf Waffles.


Createaf Waffles is a cafe specializing in waffles and tea. They carry a wide selection of sweet and savoury waffles with its home made premium ice-cream. They are also focused on serving high quality tea drinks like tea latte, tea blended drinks and hot tea in pot.

Long Black ($4.90),

Coffee was not really good. Coffee aroma was not strong enough and was a bit bland. 



Waffles was not really good. It was not crispy and it just normal to me.

Food was really disappointing. But you guys have a cup of tea or coffee to chill over here. During weekdays or weekends afternoon, usually is quite empty. 

8th stop, Lola's Cafe.


Lola's Cafe is located along Simon Road, a very convenient location for the North-Easters, it's only about a short 3-5 minute walk away from Kovan MRT station! It's really a tiny as most hipster vintage cafes are, so small groups of 2-4 are probably okay, but nothing bigger than that!

Cafe Latte ($5),

Latte was really good. and the coffee art. I missed the time when i was learning the coffee art at a cafe. The coffee was aromatic, smooth, rich and GOOD! 

Honey Paprika Crispy Wings ($10),

Wings, Honey, Spices.

The famous dish over at Lola's cafe. The wings was deep fried to a nice crisp while retaining the juiciness inside. It was creative dish. I was quite impressed in it. 

Avocado Eggs Benedict ($15),

Brioche Bread, avocado, poached eggs, pork ham, Hollandaise Sauce, Garden Salad, Balsamic dressing. 

It was an quite an average dish to me. Nothing really special about it.

The service was really slow on that day and we had to repeatedly ask the staff for our cutlery and the food came very slow too.
