08:19:00

Chicken Rice is one of locals favorite dish. Chicken rice can be found anywhere in Singapore, from hawker stalls, restaurant, franchise outlets, to cafe. This tasty food is one of local/tourists weekly meal or must have when they visit Singapore.

So here's my 4 best chicken rice stalls to try in Singapore.

1. Pow Sing Restaurant.

Pow Sing Restaurant started in 1983, the owners are hainanese and wanted to share with Singaporeans the true taste of “Hainanese Chicken Rice”. They first set up a chicken rice stall at the current place and later hired a nonya chef and changed name to “Pow Sing Restaurant”.

The white chicken was tender and juicy, drenched with a sauce that blends well with the chicken meat. One of top favorite place to have my chicken rice craving fix. They also served other dishes like those normal chinese restaurant.

2 Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice.

Wee Nam Kee's chicken rice is known for being one of the more popular family eateries in town. Since 1989, the two generations of Wees have proudly preserve the heritage and recipes refined over the years. Wee Nam Kee at Marina Square is spacious, clean and air-conditioned. They serve three different types of chicken – namely the poached, soy sauce, and fried.

Everyone favorite chicken rice dish in Singapore. The chicken is juicy and tender, the sauce is tasty enough to boost your appetite. The roasted chicken skin was crispy and savory.

Situated in populated Ang Mo Kio, Qi Le Boneless chicken Rice differentiate itself from the many chicken rice stall by giving big bowl of soup free of charge. The stall open 24 hours, thanks boss to bring me to have supper.

One of my favorite supper place. The roasted chicken was so tender, soft with a slightly crisp skin. The shop is famous for their roasted chicken. It's really worth the try.

4. Sin Swee Kee Restaurant.

Sin Swee Kee was started in Mosque Street in 2001 by two friends - CK Tan and LJ Shaw - who combined their respective business interests to form a brand new whole. Mr Tan owned a poultry farm in Malaysia that supplied chickens to hotels and restaurants while Mr Shaw ran a Chinese restaurant. They detected an opportunity and the rest, as they say, is chicken rice history.

And history is all around Sin Swee Kee as well. The restaurant occupies two shophouses on a side street opposite the Raffles Hotel. Sin Swee Kee has established itself as a legitimate player in the chicken rice stakes.

The chicken was delightfully tender with no gamey smell. The sauce drizzled on the chicken is the most intensely flavoured I've come across. It was very savoury and fragrant! Rice was average, it was fragrance but it was not clumpy.
