Cafe Hopping (Town) : High Society Cafe // Old Town White Coffee // Hoshino Coffee

Hey readers, I am back again for more cafe review. 
For this week, I will be cafe hopping around town area. 
Let cut the craps and start off with this week cafe hopping review. 

First Stop, High Society Cafe. 

Making a trip down to high society cafe with two best foreigners friends, Oogii and Tammy. 
This cafe trip was highly recommended by Oogii as she say the food over there was damn nice. 

Short Summarise

High Society Cafe was founded by That CD Shop. It was well known for their cupcakes, cakes and macarons. But they also serve proper meal which is nice and can be compared to other well known restaurant.

Seafood Laska Spaghetti ($27++) // It served with Tiger Prawns and pan-seared sea scallops with spicy laska sauce. The sauce was thick and spicy. But it was a bit too oily. 


Bolognese Spaghetti ($19++) // The bolognese sauce was really good. The noodles texture was soft and springy. But it was a bit too oily. 


Duck Confit ($28++) // It was served with mix mesclun, carrot puree, seasonal vegetables and natural sauce. The meat was too salty, and i think the side was failed to match with the main.


Ispahan ($9++) // It contained, Rose, Raspberry and Lychee Macaroon. 


Maybe Amor ($6++) // It contained, rose Raspberry Filling and Chocolate Ganache. 


Tiramisu ($9++) // It contained, Mascarpone Cheese Mousse with Coffee Infused Ladyfinger.

Ambience: 4/5
Service: 4.5/5

The food over here was really worth the price although it was quite pricey, but it was great. The dessert over here was beyond perfect. The service here was fast, efficient, and polite. It was a good place to chill or having hi-team with friends or family.

Next Stop, Old Town White Coffee. 

Making a trip down to old town white coffee for supper after watching movie with my church friends. 

Short Summarise
Old Town white coffee is a special brew originating from Ipoh Town.
In Malaysia, the original white coffee started in the town called Ipoh, it referring to a drink made from coffee beans roasted in margarine, brewed and served with sweetened condensed milk in a cream-color form. 

Old town white coffee had won many awards and now it was quite well known in the asia.

Old Town Milk Tea ($2.2++) //  The milk tea was smooth and aromatic. 


Old Town White Coffee ($2.2++) // The coffee was rich and aromatic, and with a layer of foam on top. 


Kaya and Butter Toast ($2.30++) // Average.


Wanton Mee ($8.90++) // It was not very appetizing, the sauce was not good. The char siew was average too. 


Signature Dry Ipoh Chicken Hor Fan ($8.90++) // The noodles texture was soft and springy. The prawns was fresh, and the chicken was tender. The sauce was fragrant and tasty. 



Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun ($8.90++) // It was not that great as the dry version. The soup was quite tasteless.

Service: 2.5/5 

The food over here was just average. But it was a good place to chill with friends over some nice coffee. 

Last stop, Hoshino Coffee.

Short Summaries

Hoshino Coffee was managed by the 2nd Largest F&B listed company in Japan, with over 21 brands. It was pretty famous for their hand dripped coffee as well as their soufflé pancakes.

Hoshino Blended Coffee ($5.80++) // The coffee was smooth, rich and aromatic. It was a good coffee. 


Pancake Souffle Style ($9.80++) // It was a bit dry and not fluffy enough. 


Lobster Bisque Spaghetti ($16++) // The booth was rich, creamy and aromatic. The seafood was fresh and sweet. 



Classic Omu Rice ($13++) // IThe rice was good with the sauce. The sauce was sweet and sour. But the "omu" egg was a bit bland. 


Fruits Parfait ($12++) // Average.

Ambience: 2.5/5
Service: 2.5/5

The food over here was just average. Nothing special about it. But the coffee was really good. It can be a good place to have coffee with friends.
