Din Tai Fung, a household name in Singapore since 2003, a popular favourite among locals and visitors. Talk about xiao long bao and we all think of Din Tai Fung’s legacy. There is a total of 19 branches in Singapore.

Xiao long baos (steamed pork dumplings) (S$7.30++ for 6 pieces, S$9.80++ for 10 pieces) // It has delightfully rich broth as well as tender, succulent skin, and premium pork filling. Currently the best in Singapore.
Steamed Shrimp and pork dumplings ( $7.30++ for 5 pieces and $10.80++ for 10 pieces) // The shrimp was fresh and the skin was smooth and tender.
Original shanghai drunken chicken ( $7.30++) // It was a cold dish which i don't really like. The meat was tender and juicy and the smell of rice wine was not that strong. I think this dish doesn't live up to its name.
Oriental Wantons with Black Vinegar and Chilli Oil (S$7.80++) // The sauce was good and well matched. The meat was juicy and tender, and the skin was smooth. It is another "must-order" dish whenever you come to Din Tai Fung.
Fried rice with egg ($6.80++) // A classic Chinese dish that is so simple and yummy. Every grain of the premium Taiwan pearl rice is coated with egg. Added with spring onion.

Genki Sushi has re-established its presence in Singapore with the Orchard Central branch, and now they have opened another branch in Chinatown Point. Genki Sushi does not have a revolving conveyor belt or kaiten-zushi. Instead, once the orders are received by the kitchen, the sushi is prepared and sent out to the tables from the kitchen by the “trains”. This system is known as the Kousoku (Express) system. The train is shaped like a shinkansen bullet train. The idea is good. Genki sushi also uses high-tech gadgets like the iPad mini.
The green tea tasted quite different from other sushi restaurants. Don't really like it.
Salmon sashimi is a must-eat when ever you come to sushi restaurant. The salmon was fresh and tender.
Salmon mentaiko // The mentaiko was good, dipping it with mayonnaise sauce tasted well too.
Chawanmushi (Savory egg custard) // One of my favorites whenever i visit a Japanese restaurant. The egg was steamed perfectly. It was smooth.
Fried oyster // Tried something different it tasted so good. The oyster was fresh, juicy and it not too oily.
Cha Soba // The soba was not really good, the cha (Sauce) tasted very plain. Not recommended.
The amount of food for 2 people and this is not all, we went for another round too. The tamago (Egg) was damn good. Highly recommend everyone to try.
Having a good chat with my best friend, Eugene over dinner. It was nice to catch up once in a while.
Total bill was around $100+.

Had Grace's birthday dinner over at olive vine.
Olive vine serves European cuisine at a reasonable price. There is no GST and Service Charge.
Not recommend to everyone. The cakes was bad. They tasted awful.
Fish and Chips ($8.90) // Reasonable price, the fries was not really appetizing, the fish was just average.
Bacon Aglio Olio ($9.90) // The pasta was too soft, and it was not spicy enough. It was a disappointing dish.
Fillet Carbonara ($9.90) // Another disappointing dish, the carbonara was too creamy and it tasted awful. The fillet was just average.
Pork Steak with rice ($8.90) // The sauce was good, and the meat was tender. The potion was quite big too.
Iced Lemon Tea ($2) // The iced lemon tea was too sour and it tasted weird too.

There won't be a next visit. The food tasted like those from normal food courts.
