Launching Singapore’s Largest Wine Tasting Lab Taste over 56 international labels at 75CL’s Tasting Studio.


75CL.sg, Singapore’s Leading e-commerce destination for Wines and Spirits. Elegantly designed to resolve customer need to taste wine before purchase and to resemble a Western vineyard’s tasting room, it features over 56 international wines for tasting, including labels from France, Italy and Spain. 

The newly revamped Froth, now nestled in Ascott Raffles Place. Just a stone’s throw away from Raffles Place MRT station, the 140-seater restaurant exudes a minimalist vibe and opts for the dichotomy of black and white as its colour scheme. Its muted interior design however belies the adventurous culinary journey that Chef Derrick brings his guests on.

Beef Carpaccio ($17.90++) -

It was served with wagyu beef slices, hazelnuts, sundried tomatoes, baby cress, and topped up with truffle mayonnaise and hazelnut dressing. Don’t worry the truffle mayonnaise wasn’t too over powering. 



Oriental Duck Salad ($16.90++) -

Started my meal with oritental duck salad. What an unique dish, first time heard off duck salad! It’s very rare chef use duck meat to go along with salad because usually it won’t goes very well but this surprised me. Roasted duck, smoked duck, confit duck all mixed in the spring roll, turnip, carrot and pistachio topped it up with citrus plum dressing to open up your appetite. 



Sio Bak Aglio ($25.90++) -
My personaly favourite dish among all!! This linguine was served with their home-made roasted pork belly cracking and pork jerky (Sio bak). The roasted pork belly meat was amazing good, the meat was tender, flavorful and it doesn’t has much fat and oily. The pork belly skin you can simply hear the cracking sound when you bite it.



Five Spice Wagyu Patty Burger ($34.90++) -

A beautiful marriage of east meets west in Five Spice Wagyu Patty Burger. Think the traditional ngoh hiang, but with a wagyu twist. The patty is wrapped in crispy beancurd skin and then deep fried to perfection. Completing the towering burger are baby arugula, tomatoes and soft brioche burger buns. 



Asian Barramundi ($32.90++) -
Interesting dish. Sear barramundi, asia slaw, mango salsa, puffed rice and grilled clams in their home-made laska sauce. I find that it was an very interesting and unique dish. The laska sauce was flavorful and the spiciness was just right. The sear barramundi was grilled to perfection.



French Toast Waffle ($16.90++) -

Cap off the gourmet experience with French Toast Waffle, which is topped with an enticing scoop of gourmet ice cream.


My Verdict:

I enjoyed my experience at Froth cafe. Sio bak aglio, oriental duck salad, and their truffle fries that’s worth all your travel time and calories! Trust me, you won’t regret it! I definitely will be back for more.

Kimchi pancake - The crowds favourite!! This fluffy and light yet crisp pancake was too good to resist it. I can simply have this whole plate by my own.

Korean-Style soup - This light and flavorful soup will definitely score well for those soup lover. It was cooked for more than 8 hours to make this bowl of soup so addictive. 



Beef Bulgogi - My personal favourite dish among all. The beef was marinated overnight and it was well cooked still soft and tender. The sauce was really very addictive and the sweetness was just perfect!! The best beef bulgogi I had so far.

An Dong Style Chicken Stew with Soy Sauce - 



Roast Chilli Halibut Fillet -

This meat is definitely must try!! It was damn good and you will never regret it. The halibut fillet was well marinated, the sauce wasn’t too sweet or spicy! The flavor was well balanced. The fillet was very soft and tender.



Pork Belly Bossam - 

What’s Korean feast without any pork belly dish!! Meat lover will definitely love it. The pork belly was boiled with lots of spices that’s why the pork belly is so flavorful.

Hotel Jen Orchard Gateway Singapore will be showcasing the best of Singapore Hawker Cuisine this July and August with live cooking station set up on the terrace of Makan@Jen serrving freshly made local dishes, and features local favourites including Roti Prata, Hokkien mee, Chicken Satay, and Oyster Omelette.  Diners will also be able to try out some Singapore sweeter selection, including the ever popular kaya toast, various selection of Nonya kueh and even bubur cha cha with durian.



Central to the dinner will be one of Singapore all time favourites - Singapore Laska, done with a twist. Chef Lee's Laska Fried Rice is his take on a dish that was first brought into Singapore by the peranakan. Who settled in the katong area between the 15th and 17th centuries. While there are many variation of Laska. Chef Lee Laska recipe remain a secret but is freshly made at Makan@Jen  and the laska fried rice is prepared alongside fresh seafood and laska sauce.

My Verdict: 
I enjoyed my dining experience at Makan@Jen. Their Singapore Hawker Food was good, the money you pay definitely won't gone to waste. Try their hokkien mee and Wanton mee, highly recommended by me.

Started my meal with caesar salad and carrot ginger soup.  The caesar salad served in curry caesar dressing, croutons, tandoori chicken. The tandoori chicken was well marinated and tender. The curry caesar dressing was interesting, rarely see people used curry as a salad dressing.  



Carrot Ginger Soup - Mild ginger, tomato and cream to make this bowl of soup. The ginger taste was really strong, if you don't ginger, I advise you not to try it. 





Fish Biryani - This plate of biryani was served with a piece of fish patties, papadum, picked vegetable, raita, almond mint biryani rice topped up with coriander curry. The fish patties was interesting, usually Indian restaurant will serve their fish in a fish form not in patties form but this fish patties was interesting and delicious. The almond mint biryani rice was good too. The curry was flavorful and creamy, if only the curry portion can be more. 





Chicken Stew - Coriander cream, curry mash potatoes, mushroom, tomato, and chicken. The curry mash potatoes was creamy and flavorful but it was lacking of the curry aroma. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The sauce was flavorful, thick and peppery. 





Complete my meal with a good dessert. Pistachio Creme Brulee - cardamom pistachio with mixed berry chutney. This was the best pistachio creme brulee i had ever try so far!!

Decent food at affordable price. During lunch time, they having a set promotion, choose one starter, one main, and one dessert at the price of $15++.

The new way of having steamboat and seafood together! What did i mean together? Rong Fu Ji Seafood Steam Pot offer the new steam pot where the real taste of seafood is unleashed through the unique steaming style. This's the first to be introduced to Singapore.


The new designed pot ensure all essence of seafood flavors are captured and flow down to the bottom layer where a porridge are made from a rich seafood ingredients. The pot is powered by a high pressure steamer and locked down the real taste of seafood, beef , pork and vegetables, where you don’t get to taste it in a conventional hot pot. Rong Fu Ji is literally the Steam Pot!


We tried the 4-6 pax set menu ($138++). It comes with an wide range of seafood and vegetable variety.


For seafood, there have: Flower Crab, Scallop, Oyster, Bamboo Clam, Tiger Prawn. and promfret or grouper. For vegetable: Cabbage, enoki mushroom, sweet corn, carrot and cai sim. It also comes with a meat selection, we tried kurobuta pork belly and angus beef.


What to start with? First, start off with seafood, next vegetable, and the final to goes in to the pot will be the meat. For seafood and vegetables you just need to steam for 3 minute, and for meat will need to steam for 4 minutes.


All the tables have a cute little timer for you to use.


Don't forget about the sauces! All the sauces are home-made by the talented chef. The Thai chili sauce was the best sauce for seafood while the black pepper sauce goes well with meat, the special sauce and chopped chili and soy sauce goes well with porridge.


Next we moved on to the last dish. The porridge was so flavorful, it absorbed all the ingredients essence, this porridge will definitely make you come back for more.


My Verdict:
I enjoyed my experience at Rong Fu Ji Seafood Steam Pot, their unique was of eating seafood and steamboat  attract me to be back for more and it was an healthy way of having this too. The porridge gave me a big impact on it.
